Dr. Yuna Potomkina

Associate Researcher

Dr. Yuna Potomkina is a partner, Head of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Co-Head of Public Advocacy and Law at Asters, Ukraine. She holds a PhD from the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences. She is a 2024 Weinstein JAMS International Fellow (USA), an honorary member of the National Association of Mediators of Ukraine and a board member of the Ukrainian Bar Association’s mediation committee. She participated in a working group that helped draft a national law on mediation and facilitated Ukraine’s signing of the Singapore Convention on Mediation. 

As an advisor to Oleksii Reznikov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, she worked with the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) within the Minsk negotiation process from 2020-2022. There, she prepared a package of draft laws on transitional justice, peacebuilding, a national strategy for the de-occupation of Crimea and a related action plan. Until September 2023, she served as an advisor to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense.

Dr. Potomkina’s research interests include mediation, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
