Tetiana Kyselova joined the “Embrace Democracy: Reflections from the European Neighbourhood” podcast for its third episode, titled “Gaza and Ukraine: What does it mean to work for democracy in the midst of war?” In the episode, Dr. Kyselova provided a Ukrainian perspective on democratic engagement during war, discussing critical lessons from the ground and how the EU could play a more constructive role in the region.

Tetiana Kyselova and Tetiana Kalenychenko presented their research at the 62nd annual Conflict Research Society (CRS) conference held at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK on 17-19 September 2025. This year’s conference theme was “Legitimacy in Conflict and Peace.” The event marked the first time that an all-Ukrainian panel had been featured at the CRS. The panelists – Tetiana Kyselova, Tetiana Kalenychenko and Yelizaveta Rechtman – focused on the legitimacy and importance of Ukrainian people’s voices in dialogues, Transitional Justice, adaptive and agonistic peacebuilding.

Tetiana Kyselova has published a research article, “Including Civil Society in Peace Negotiations: The War in the Ukraine Donbas Region (2014–21),” in the 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 2025 Special Issue on Patchworked Peacemaking. Drawing on the experience of the Minsk process in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the article highlights key nuances and potential pitfalls associated with civil society inclusion in peace negotiations.
